The HOMS Solicitors Transition Year Programme was held in our Limerick office from 23rd to 27th October and was a great success. Our structured TY Programme has been designed for students with a keen interest in the legal profession and aims to encourage them to consider a career in law.
Facilitated by HOMS legal practitioners, trainee solicitors, guest speakers and external legal professionals, the activity-based programme featured a tour of our firm, a visit to Limerick courthouse to see a High Court case in session and a Street Law style workshop involving the practical investigation of a legal case. Students also conducted a mock trial in which they were each given roles to play – witnesses were cross-examined, barristers made opening and closing statements and Senior Associate Solicitor, Michael Murphy, acted as judge.
All of the students worked very hard and each was presented with the HOMS Certificate of Achievement to mark their participation.
Well done to all of the Transition Year students and a big thank you to all involved.
