For the third year running, we held a Transition Year Law Day. This year, our Law Day was with the students of Colaiste Nano Nagle, Limerick. Twenty-one students took part. The Law Day is an intensive version of our Transition Year Programme which was a finalist in the national Chambers Ireland CSR Awards. The day aims to teach students about careers in law as well as offer insight and skills training.
Facilitated by Sandra Egan, Eadaoin Jackson, Mikhaela O’Shaughnessy, Nicola Hackett and Ciara Downes, the Law Day featured presentations on Holmes O’Malley Sexton, Pathways to Further Education, Protecting Yourself Online, Cyber Bullying, a team work exercise “The Spaghetti Tower Challenge” and also a Street Law style workshop involving the practical investigation of a legal case.
All of the students and staff were fantastic to work with and showed incredible enthusiasm and should be commended. We were delighted to be welcomed to host the day at Colaiste Nano Nagle.
