A great weekend was had by all involved with the Great Limerick Run. For the fourth year running HOMS Solicitors were proud sponsors of the HOMS Fittest Company Challenge as part of the Barringtons Hospital Great Limerick Run. This year the HOMS team were fundraising for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital.
The weekend kicked off with the Great Limerick Run Expo in the Sports Arena at UL on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 April. HOMS Solicitors had an exhibition stand at the Expo. A highlight of the stand was the ‘Beat the Bleep’ game which was of great enjoyment to both children and adults.
As the clouds descended on Limerick City on the morning of the race everybody was hoping the rain would not set in. Thankfully as the morning progressed a glimmer of sun peered through the clouds and things looked a lot brighter. From mid-morning the HOMS Solicitors Fittest Company Challenge team started to arrive at our office in Bishopsgate well kitted out and psyched up to race.
There was a great air of excitement and buzz outside the HOMS Solicitors office with live music and spectators cheering on the passing runners. Soon the team of 38 ‘left the building’ and made their way to the start-line. HOMS staff and family members not racing manned the HOMS Solicitors Water Station at the final mile of the race.
Partner, George Kennedy, said
“The final leg of the race was a little challenging but when I saw the sea of blue HOMS Solicitors t-shirts ahead of me at the water station and their cheers of encouragement it pushed me on towards the finishing line.”
All 38 of the HOMS Solicitors Fittest Company Challenge team finished their race and afterwards it was back to the office in Bishopsgate for some welcome refreshments!
We will follow up with another article shortly with the eagerly awaited announcement of the winners of the HOMS Solicitors Fittest Company Challenge.
