The 2015 winners of the Holmes O’Malley Sexton, Solicitors ‘Fittest Company Challenge’ were presented with their trophies at a prize-giving event at HOMS’ offices at Bishopsgate, Henry Street, Limerick, on Wednesday 13th May 2015. HOMS sponsor the ‘Fittest Company Challenge’ as part of the 2015 Barrington Hospital Great Limerick Run event, which took place on Sunday 3rd May 2015.
This year, over 2000 employees from more than 115 companies of various sizes registered and took part in the HOMS Solicitors Fittest Company Challenge. Companies are categorised according to employee numbers with points allocated per employee that cross the finishing line.

This year, the winners of the Large Company Category, Eircom had over 300 staff members participating in the event. In addition to retaining their title as The Fittest Large Company in Ireland, Eircom staff also raised an outstanding amount of €100,000 for Special Olympics – a charity that Eircom has been associated with for thirty years.

According to Limerick Chamber of Commerce the novel challenge provides an opportunity for some friendly competition amongst businesses in the Mid-West region as well as highlighting the idea that healthy employees are happy and productive employees.
