Holmes O’Malley Sexton TY Programme 2019

We were delighted to welcome another group of transition year students to the firm for our third Transition Year Programme. This structured programme runs over the course of one week and gives students the opportunity to gain a real insight into life inside a law firm, through a series of workshops, presentations, challenges and even a court visit!

This latest group of transition year students really engaged with the interactive programme and, to mention but a few topics, enjoyed:-

  • Alien invasion and their take on our laws;
  • ‘Pathways to Success’: how to become a solicitor;
  • Digital communication and protecting yourself online;
  • Visit to the new Limerick courthouse on Mulgrave Street;
  • Street Law workshop; and
  • Mock trial.

Many thanks to everyone who took part and helped facilitate the week.

The students were delighted with their certificates of completion and their HOMS Solicitors goodybags!

An exciting day out in the Limerick Criminal Court.

We welcomed Barrister Catherine McCloone who spoke about life as Barrister in Ireland and gave the students some great tips and advice.
