Corporate Social Responsibility Update

In addition to continuing to support Pieta House we have enjoyed being involved in many other fundraising initiatives, charity works, community support and business events upon which we are pleased to update you.

Enterprise and Business Events

It has been a busy time over the last six months supporting enterprise and business events.

George Kennedy, Partner, has recently been appointed as a member of the Advisory Group at Innovate Limerick, a group established by Limerick City and County Council to help innovation and act as the delivery mechanism for projects in Limerick. HOMS were one of the main sponsors of the CorkBIC ‘Entrepreneur Experience’ in County Cork in April, along with Bank of Ireland and Grant Thornton. We also supported the UL GAA Fundraising Breakfast in January.

Neil O’Gorman, Associate Solicitor, Corporate and Commercial, gave a presentation on Corporate Transactions and Selling Your Business to the CLUB Limerick Business Network in March. Kevin Doughan, a specialist Solicitor in our Wills and Probate Unit, hosted and presented three breakfast seminars on a number of succession planning matters. Members of our Dublin office enjoyed attending Capital Limerick’s evening event which focused on how the Mid-West could attract multi-national corporations seeking to relocate in the wake of Brexit.

Charity and Community Events

We are immensely proud and humbled to see such large numbers of our employees taking part in charity and community events.

We were pleased to sponsor and be represented by Amy Grant, Legal Assistant, in the Tipperary Rose of Tralee selection in April.

Other events supported by HOMS include participation in the Team Limerick Clean-Up 3 held on Good Friday and the Law Society of Ireland Spring Gala Dinner in Dublin (with profits donated to the Solicitors Benevolent Association).

Workplace Events and HOMS Transition Year Programme

Some of our internal events and programmes included a celebration of International Women’s Day in March. Sandra Egan, Partner, was profiled for International Women’s Day in the Limerick Leader and organised a celebration of the equality day by holding a lunch in the office.

We hosted the HOMS Solicitors Transition Year Programme in our Limerick office. Following on from this successful programme, participant, Hugh Gallagher, organised a Mock Trial competition at his school, Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh.
