Corporate Social Responsibility Round-Up

Supporting our workforce: Knowledge and Continuous Improvement

Our continuous improvement journey progresses with a number of projects, training, consultant initiatives and membership of the Mid-West Lean Network from which the firm and our clients are beginning to reap the rewards.

We continue with our commitment to quality and knowledge through our own lifelong learning and development with an unprecedented investment in further education and qualifications this year. We have grown and developed our in-house training programme for personnel year on year, which includes our leadership and innovation series, in addition to our legal sector focus and management and professional skills.

We have just announced the launch of our HOMS Employee Assistance Programme, comprising a range of support services for employees and their immediate families, provided by VHI. Together with our new incentive schemes, we are offering our HOMS team the best supports and working environment in our history to date.

Supporting Students

We were delighted to attend the University of Limerick Careers Fair in October. Margaret McInerney, Caitlín Love, Eoin Kennedy and Neil O’Doherty attended together with over 160 other companies. It proved a great opportunity to meet with students with an interest in pursuing law as a career from a variety of disciplines engaged in degree and post-graduate studies.

Our team also enjoyed delivering a law day to Ard Scoil Mhuire students.

We have again delivered our ‘Pathways to Success’ seminar to University of Limerick students and were pleased to have contributed to the School of Law’s excellent publication ‘The Complete Law School Survival Guide 2018/2019’ for their students.

Within our structured Transition Year Programme we welcomed our second cohort of students this year to enjoy a week in the life of our law firm.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Evening

Shannon Chamber hosted a dedicated CSR evening to showcase some of the projects companies in this area are undertaking and how their ‘giving’ benefits the region. We were delighted to be invited to showcase our HOMS CSR journey and hear of the wonderful and inspiring work and initiatives being undertaken by other organisations in the region.
