The winners of Limerick Institute of Technology's Limerick Enterprise Acceleration Platform (LEAP) Programme Business Awards were announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday 5th July 2012. The ceremony was attended, amongst others, by Jan O'Sullivan TD, Minister of State (Department of Environment, Community and Local Government with special responsibility for Housing and Planning), Jerry Moloney, Regional Director Mid West Enterprise Ireland, and Gordon Kearney, President of Limerick Chamber of Commerce.
Prizes to the value of €100,000 were awarded to start up businesses who won LIT's LEAP business awards.
Siobhán Buckley, lead Partner in the Corporate & Commercial Department at Holmes O'Malley Sexton, presented the second prize with a total value of €15,000 to Lavida Food Limited, which source and supply gluten-free food products.
Holmes O'Malley Sexton are pleased to provide three days legal consultancy as part of the first prize, two days as part of the second prize and one day as part of the third prize. We are looking forward to supporting the winners in their new businesses with legal help, advice and assistance.
The other prizes consist of equity investment from AIB Seed Capital Fund Investment, mentoring from the Discovery Partnership, cash from LIT, cash from HDS Partnership and Limerick Chamber of Commerce membership.

- Second Prize with a total value of €15,000: Lavida Food Limited
- Third Prize with a total value of €7,500: NeverMind Games
- Award for Best Intellectual Property with a value of €1,000: ALR Innovations.
