Joe is a partner in our property department and joined the firm in 1982.
Joe has extensive experience in advising clients on all aspects of banking, insolvency, restructuring and commercial real estate, including related matters of taxation, construction, energy, environmental and planning law. He negotiates and drafts agreements in connection with the acquisition, development and disposal of commercial, industrial and retail property. He has advised a number of third-level institutions and developers on the security aspects of project finance and tax-based lending. He provides advice on the property aspects of asset/share sales, acquisitions, insolvency and recovery matters in conjunction with the firm's other practice groups.
Joe's client base operates both nationally and internationally. He acts for banks, receivers, liquidators, creditors, property developers and corporates.
Limerick-based Holmes O’Malley Sexton is busy advising Bank of Ireland and Ulster Bank on loan restructuring and security reviews, and also acts for NAMA. Joseph O’Meara is the lead partner.
