Gordon A. Holmes - Chairman

Gordon Holmes co-founded Holmes O'Malley Sexton in 1970 and acted as Managing Partner for the firm for 30 years, until 2000. Since then, he has been Chairman of the firm. His vast practice experience stretches over 45 years and includes numerous high profile positions such as being the first appointed state solicitor for Limerick city, as well as being solicitor to the Attorney General and holding many additional government posts.

Professional Activities:
Chairman of the Commission on Intoxicating Liquor Licensing.
Chairman of the Garda Síochána Complaints Board.
Chairman of the Parole Board in the Republic of Ireland.
Served on the Rules Committee of the Superior Courts of Ireland.
Chairman of the Betting Appeals Board.
Chairman of the Independent Complaints Panel.
Director of the following institutions:
-The University of Limerick Foundation,
-The J.P. McManus Charitable Foundation,
-The Hunt Museum.
Numerous appointments to the board of commercial companies.

Education:
University College Dublin, BCL.
Admitted to the Law Society of Ireland.
Awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Limerick, in April 2005.
