WHY JOIN US?

We offer attractive remuneration and benefits packages, the opportunity to work with experts in their field and to engage with a broad range of clients including leading national and international corporate and commercial enterprises, state bodies, financial institutions, insurers and private clients.

We have a culture of high performance where everybody understands how they contribute to the firm’s success and how they can progress their careers. Based on this we have established a career framework underpinned by a meaningful performance management process.

The firm delivers legal services to the highest prevailing standards in the profession. In October 2015 we were awarded a Gold Grade in the Q9000 Risk Management Legal Quality Standard Certification after a full and comprehensive audit by the Institute of Legal Research and Standards.

The Legal 500, an esteemed legal directory of quality law firms, lists Holmes O’Malley Sexton Solicitors amongst their top Irish Law firms. We are ranked in the globally acclaimed Chambers and Partners legal directory. We have also been winners of the Irish Law Awards over a number of years.

Our solicitors are talented and motivated individuals who work as a team sharing information and knowledge at every level. They play a vital role in shaping the firm’s future and are rewarded with genuine opportunities for career progression.

We are seeking to recruit solicitors, at all levels, who are passionate about their chosen practice area. We seek to recruit our Partners of the future through our Trainee Solicitor Programme. Many of our current Partners came to us by entering into a Training Contract and progressing through the firm.

We look for trainees who have achieved a high academic standard. Preference will be given to those with a minimum of a 2.1 degree. Applicants must be in the process of or have completed the FE1 exams. Common sense, problem solving, the ability to organise oneself and others, as well as being commercially aware are essential characteristics.

Trainees will normally commence work in the office six months in advance of starting their PPC1 course in Blackhall Place.

The firm will pay salaries, registration fees and full course fees for PPC1 and PPC2. Over the course of two years, trainees take four seats in different legal areas in our Limerick office as well as being given the opportunity to work in our Dublin office. A Senior Solicitor, in conjunction with the relevant Partner, identifies the work and projects to be done by trainees which are geared to provide opportunities for growth and development. Trainees are included at in-house training and receive on-going supervision, feedback and support. A formal performance review on completion of each rotation is carried out. Upon successful completion of the training contract the firm may offer a twelve month contract as a qualified solicitor to each successful trainee.

Closing date for applications is 30th October.
